03/03/08 - Turning Point has been selected as the Durham Center LME contractor to provide services for the Comprehensive Wraparound Initiative.

01/17/08 - Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) is a substance abuse assessment tool. TPAC has been selected as the site for Durham county to be trained in its usage.

01/09/08 - Hispanic Services are now being offered under the leadership of John Braswell (Director of Hispanic Services)

10/25/07 - Turning Point Adolescent Center volunteered on October 25 at the kickoff to Durham’s 10 year plan to end homelessness. The event, Project Homeless Connect, was held at Urban Ministries and was an effort to get the homeless in Durham county access to veterinarian, medical, mental health, employment and housing services on the same day of initial contact.

10/01/07 - In an effort to support the community and our partner agencies, TPAC sponsored a booth at the Annual Recovery Day Celebration. It was a memorable occasion with testimonies by recovering addicts, dancing, delicious food, and a wealth of information from various providers. Mayor Bill Bell gave an inspiring speech towards the end of the festivities.

7/19/07 - Turning Point Adolescent Center is pleased to announce the appointment of DeAnna Boothe to the position of Program Manager for all of Turning Point operations.  Her responsibilities will include oversight of the firms Community Support Services, Outpatient Therapy, Diagnostic Assessment and Day Treatment practices and personnel.  Laura Foster, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, will focus on developing the Creative Art Therapy Programming at Turning Point, seeking to make TPAC known for the quality and effectiveness of this type of treatment in the mental health field. 

Dameon McCain will continue to focus on the day to day operations and expansion of the Day Treatment services platform to include recreational, computer and potentially martial arts and nutrition education programs.  Eric Johnson, Co-Founder will expand his role to include facilities management, as well as, quality assurance for all TPAC policies and procedures.

Turning Point is a licensed mental health provider in Durham located at 4300 Garret Road with offices at 100 East Parrish Street in downtown Durham. TPAC is currently offering Day Treatment and Outpatient Therapy, Psychiatric Services, Community Support Services, and TPAC will begin offering group therapy at the Juvenile Justice Reporting Center, New Day program July 17th.
